- Does sharing your writing with others intimidate you?
- Have you ever wanted to write -- anything?
- Are you a kind supportive woman?
- Do you like to make stuff?
- Does fashion interest you?
- Are you a good writer?
- Do you like to write?
- Are you creative?*
If you answered YES to any of the above questions, then this Meetup is for you!
Write On Woman - connecting to your inner strength through writing, is a collective of women who write. This is the social activity group of the formal Write On Woman Workshop. The purpose of this Meetup is to create opportunities to write in the company of other women in a fun and relaxed environment. At our Meetups participants will engage with a writing prompt to get our thoughts flowing. We write for short intervals and then reflect on what we wrote. Although we are serious about our writing, during the Meetups we will intentionally keep it “sorta” light and definitely fun. NO connecting to the core wound during these activities!
The BIG deal that everyone should know is that we do not share our writing! The focus of our meetings is to get each woman to write and to do so in an uninhabited fashion. Knowing that you might have to share what you write will automatically change the process and the written product that you produce. On the other-hand making friends and connections with WOW women outside of our formal Meetups is encouraged. If you meet a new friend who you would like to share with, the sharing can occur on your own terms. No one should every feel weary about attending a Meetup because you may have to share your work -- it will not happen. In our community everyone is creative and any literate woman who can write words on paper is considered a writer. What a powerful blessing!

* - As of October 2011, the Meetup has expanded to include other forms of creativity and the arts. We will still be focused primarily on the craft of writing, but will also dabble in other creative activities for those who are interested.
