Reading and Critiquing

Details
Dear all,
Join us for our monthly "Reading & Critiquing" meeting, and share your creativity in an intimate and casual setting.
Format: Each participant has a total of 30 mins to read an excerpt from his/her writing and get comments from other people in the group.
Upload files: If you'd like to make available to people the piece of writing you're going to read, you can upload it to the file section on the group's homepage: https://www.meetup.com/Write-on-Life-Washington-DC-Writers-Group/files/. There may be some of us who can read it beforehand and thus provide more detailed critiques. But this is not necessary for you to benefit from the meeting.
What to bring: 1) An excerpt of your writing (ideally no more than 2000 words) to read to the group. (You're welcome to also print out paper copies of your writing to give to other participants, so that we can read along and give you more detailed comments) 2) Pen and paper to take notes. 3) A welcoming mind to imperfect writing, both of yours and of others. 4) Constructive suggestions (Don't just say, "This is awful". Say how you think it can be made better.)
Donation: I'd appreciate if you could bring a small donation to cover the expense. It's not required. Offer whatever you can.
I'll prepare snacks and soft drinks. Looking forward to seeing you!
Love,
Natasha
