Writing Church is for you if you’re:

a Sinner: You don’t write but you know you should.
a Saint: You write three times daily.
an Atheist: You don’t believe you’re a writer.
an Agnostic: You don’t believe you’re a writer or not a writer.

Malcolm Gladwell, in Outliers: The Story of Success, says it takes 10,000 hours of deliberate practice to master a skill. For the hell (or heaven) of it, we’ll meet regularly/religiously to prostrate ourselves before the blank page and generate lots of original writing (prose and/or poetry) via accessible forms, prompts, sample writings, and language play and experimentation. We’ll also attend to craft, identifying clichés, easy solutions, habitual ways of articulation, and vague generalities in our writing so that we can invent language that powerfully communicates the personal and the universal simultaneously. We’ll create a safe space for the sharing of work (and possibly guided group feedback, though this isn’t a critique group, per se).

Fee options:

Drop-in fee for the weekly 2-hour workshop: $20
A 5-pack to be used for any 5 sessions: $75 ($15/session)
A 10-pack to be used for any 10 sessions: $100 ($10/session)

All three options are payable by check or cash: the 1st, every time; the 2nd and 3rd, on the first day you attend. Join in anytime!
