Organised by the Writers' Studio Main Street these workshops will be held at serene Greenhills on Tweed on February 12, March 11 and April 15. They will look at specific aspects of writing such as plotting and structuring of your story, voice, dialogue and characterisation, points of view, pacing and description, editing and preparing your book for publishers. Each of the days will focus on different aspects. Work on the story you've always wanted to tell in the company of other writers.
Marian Edmunds worked as a journalist in Australia, Hong Kong and London. She was a staff journalist at the Financial Times for 15 years. She wrote for the FT and specialist travel and hotel publications about the business and design of tourism, travel and hotels. Her articles appear in the Australian Financial Review and the Weekend Australian.
Several of Marian's fiction works have been selected or shortlisted in competitions. She was invited to send her novel The Search Engine to two publishers at the Perfect Pitch event at Byron Bay Writers' Festival in August 2011.
She has a story is appearing in city-pick New York, a literary anthology published by Oxygen Books that includes stories by Martin Amis, Don DeLillo, Tom Wolfe, Jonathan Franzen, Gary Shteyngart, Edgar Allan Poe, David Byrne and many more.
She has co-authoring 'Navigational Tips for Living In An Imperfect World' with Charles Bentley, a respected personal development coach in the UK. It will be published late January 2012.
