XMPP / Realtime meetup

After the success of the first XMPP / Realtime meetup, it's time to plan the next event!

Agenda so far:

An introduction to the XSF (Kevin Smith)

Kevin a software engineer at Isode Ltd will be introducing us to the XSF, or the XMPP Standards Foundation. Topics include, how it works, what are XEPs, and what is currently happening at the XSF.

Realtime and Go (Paddy Foran)

A look at why Go is a great tool for realtime web applications. We'll talk about using Go's concurrency primitives with a websockets library to enable realtime functionality in 200 some odd lines of code. We'll introduce the language, then walk through how to build a realtime application, with special attention paid to the things that Go allows you to do that other realtime languages do not.

Great to meet everyone, interesting presentations and follow up conversations.

Looking forward to the next one, although I really must polish up on my table football skills...

    Hi sahera kadim,

I'm afraid we didn't get to record the talks due to technical difficulties (i.e. I forgot, several times). That said there's a blog post up on our sponsors blog http://www.surevine.com/blog/2013/03/20/surevine-sponsors-first-uk-based-regular-xmpprealtime-meetup/ which will give you some more information.

    Hope that helps, Lloyd.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
