Details

Even though there's an Apple event on the 9th, we'll be having our usual Xcake on the 8th as we suspect everyone will be at Intercom's product event (https://www.intercom.io/events/on-product). If there's a demand, we may organise something informal. (There will, of course, still be a bingo card (http://appleeventbingo.com/).)

We're switching to a 2 talk format for the next couple of months as the feedback from the series of 3 talk events has been that they're a little rushed. We do appreciate any feedback you have on the events and we love hearing from the community.

Drawing in code: bridging the gap between designers and developers with PaintCode

With modern apps requiring more and more highly defined, sharp graphics, designers and coders should interact with each other as efficiently as possible. PaintCode is a tool that helps in streamlining this interaction, taking away the boring details.

About Paolo Manna:

If you can remember NXString (not a typo!), then you're likely to have the same experience that Paolo has with Objective-C: from black boxes to golden phones, he's followed the full evolution, always wondering what would come next… He's now working at INM in Dublin, since last year: can't really get into beer that much though.

Autolayout advances in iOS 9

Omar Abdelhafith (https://twitter.com/ifnottrue) brings us a talk about the latest in Autolayout for iOS 9 - UIStackView, NSLayoutAnchor and UILayoutGuides

About Omar:

I am an iOS developer working at MTT currently. I am quite fond of reading, learning, presenting and discussing about iOS, Swift, Objc, and Python.

When I am not working I normally write articles on http://nsomar.com/ and https://medium.com/@NSomar. I have been mentioned a couple of times on iOSDevWeekly and iOS-Goodies.

Please also check my open source portfolio on github (https://github.com/oarrabi).

Show Us Yer App

Have you an app you'd like to share with us? We've a slot open for you to show off to our friendly community.

As always, we'll be in O'Neills on Pearse street afterwards to dissect the talks and make wild speculations about the content of the Apple Event.
