We are excited to announce that we are bringing in world-famous blogger John Chow to speak at our April YVR Bloggers Meetup (http://www.YVRBloggers.com) at the elegant Modern Art Gallery (http://www.stewartstephenson.com) in Downtown Vancouver. Her background and skills are extensive and cover a wide range of industries and work environments. Ariane’s lived and worked in three countries so far. This lends to many stories and experiences – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Ariane’s photographic eye, keen pulse on Vancouver, and wandering curiosity provide online magazine Vancouverscape with a wealth of stories and features that reach a wide audience. Daily blogging, photography, and attending events while maintaining a work-life balance in a (very much non-9-to-5) busy world has been put to the test this past year with a cancer scare. Come and hear how blogging did in fact keep Ariane focused on getting well through modern medicine.
Anika Venkatesh - Bio:

Anika is a 13-year old musician from Coquitlam, BC. She first started taking an interest in music when she was 3 years old, while listening to the songs on the radio, and being able to memorize all the lyrics and sing along to each one. Not only does she sing, but she also plays the piano and the trumpet, and is beginning to teach herself guitar.
Anika sings mainly of the jazz, pop, and indie-rock genres, but enjoys singing and performing wide variety of different music styles. She composes original songs, and is currently in the RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) Level 5 in voice, and is taking her next exam to move onto Level 7 in May. Since 2012, she has participated in different competitions, such as the Coquitlam District Music Festival (CDMF), the Vancouver X-Mas Factor Singing Competition, and is participating the CDMF competitions again in April 2014.

After a 15 years hiatus as a photographer Bob Garlick is back with a vengeance. He has shot for magazines and publications all over the world. He was a stringer for Maclean's Magazine and Western Living Magazine. In Asia he shot for the South China Morning Post and many other business publications.
Now Bob is shooting Vancouver's street people and giving them B&W prints as a way to build a unique portfolio and give something special to people on the edge. Bob has been in the communication business for over 35 years and specializes in marketing ideas and strategy, design, podcasting and photography. He is actively involved with the art scene in Vancouver and Asia.

Dr Dionne Lalso-Baker - Bio:

Dr. Dionne Laslo-Baker is more than just your average mom. As a medical scientist with a PhD from the University of Toronto, she spent years studying how the environment and the food we consume impact our health and wellness. During her Masters degree training, Dionne was named Humanitarian of the Year at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She is widely published in medical literature and has taught courses in human anatomy and physiology at both the University of Toronto and Dalhousie University.
A couple of years ago she founded TeaPops over a casual conversation with her kids. TeaPops had their official Canadian Launch Party last week. Dionne will be sharing about the history and vision of TeaPops as well as giving out samples to all of our attendees.
