YVR Foodies @ East is East

Our April YVR Foodies Meetup will be at East is East in Kitsilano (http://www.EastisEast.ca) with Adam Hart, the founder of The Power of Food (http://www.poweroffood.com), creator of Ra Energy (http://raenergyfoods.com), and author of The Power of Food, as our keynote speaker. Our featured blogger for April will be Whitney Hong from Macarons and Mischief (http://www.macaronsandmischief.com/). We also have talented musicians Timothy Hewitt & Angie Faith who will be performing during the event!

Adam Hart (Keynote Speaker) - Bio

Adam Hart is a Living Food Champion, Best Selling Author, Professional Speaker and creator of Ra Energy Foods. He shares the power of eating plant-based, living foods to awaken an abundance of energy and happiness, without giving up your favourite foods.

During his talk, "5 tips for Healthier Eating at Restaurants", Adam will share advice on how to stay healthy without giving up our nights on the town. Learn how to to avoid packing on the pounds while you enjoy those restaurant meals and receive complimentary samples of the #raenergy whole foods supplement.

Adam will be giving away copies of his book, t-shirts, and shakers as door prizes to a few lucky foodies! :)

Timothy Hewitt (Performer) - Bio

A one man band that will surprise and delight you – Tim’s use of looping technology makes for a solo show that you have to hear to believe. Without backing tracks, autotune or samples, Tim sounds like an entire band, all live and ‘on the fly’. Audience members are constantly asking ‘How does he do that?’. You will be amazed what one voice and one guitar can sound like.

Whitney Hong (Featured Blogger) - Bio

Whitney runs a popular lifestyle blog called Macarons and Mischief where she covers topics such as beauty, fashion, food, and anything else she finds interesting, which is a lot of things. Since Whitney is a local expert in the area of macarons, she will be sharing about some of the best places to buy macarons in Vancouver. Whitney has also blogged for Vancity Buzz (http://www.vancitybuzz.com/)and Makeup Mew (http://www.makeupmew.com/).

Angie Faith (Performer) - Bio

Hailing from Richmond B.C. Angie Faith has immersed herself in the roots of the Vancouver music scene. This singer / songwriter is very passionate about music and is currently in the studio recording her first full length album of all original music.

She works along side some extremely talented veterans of rock n roll. One of them being Tommy Stewart. Former drummer from the legendary Canadian rock band "Trooper" Tommy will be featured on the album on drums.

This project is one that she very excited to release this coming year. Angie loves to perform, playing many venues around town Acoustic & with her band. She brings a wealth of covers spanning decades of music and pulling from many influences. This lady is a natural born singer & preforming artist.

Andrew Hall (Co-Founder of Mealshare) - Bio

Andrew Hall is the Co-Founder of Mealshare. Mealshare partners with restaurants and puts the Mealshare logo beside a few menu items. When someone purchases a Mealshare menu item, they get their meal exactly as normal, but they're also providing a meal to someone in need. Mealshare donates meals through existing charitable partners locally and abroad.

Andrew has been fortunate to travel and volunteer which has given him a real sense of gratitude for the things in his life. He'll never turn down a great hike, round of jeopardy, game of any sport, or a challenge. He's passionate about good friends, good food, and leaving the world better than he found it.
