Yoga that connects! Welcome to my latest unique yoga venture, as featured in National Press! Nobody does yoga quite like Richard Brook of Creative Yoga London. Following on from the immense success of Social Yoga Tuesdays and Singles Yoga Sundays on my Social and Singles Yoga meetup group, here we are rocking with my Yoga Dating and Couples Yoga classes. My Singles Yoga classes were a UK first, and from what I can see no-one else is doing Couples Yoga either!
For me Yoga is all about balance and harmony - and that includes connecting with the people around us. It's often the missing link in my opinion - how can we feel to be at 'One' with the world around us when we struggle to connect with other people? Living in such a busy city - but with so much diluted and superficial interaction, creates the thirst for something more!
It doesn't do for me to go a class, roll up my mat and turn my nose up or look blankly at those i've been practicing with, which often seems to be the case in conventional classes, so all my classes are followed by socials - so you can share the feel good energy and state you are in!
I also think that having some fun and joy is of massive benefit to your sense of wellness and alters your physiology and mood :-)
Yoga is a fantastic way of connecting with other people, particularly the style i teach - as it includes partner exercises, and also exercises that the whole group does in a circle connected together (Humandala yoga) Classes also start with time just for you - because when you are calm, relaxed and centered then your connection with those around you is also better! These classes also feature connection exercises, where we practice authentic genuine connection with another person.

In these classes you rotate around between other members of the group - so you get to meet everyone, practicing partner yoga and connection exercises, before a deep relaxation at the end and then a social so you get to chat and meet those you have been practicing with. I also run Yoga Pub Dating in connection with fun dating site doing something.co.uk.
"Even though everyone in the room is a complete stranger, thanks to Richard’s positive energy it doesn’t feel overly strange to be doing things you’d only normally do with people you’ve known five years, let alone five minutes" Read Participants Blog
"The change in everybody’s demeanour after class is tangible. People are more relaxed, less awkward around each other and invariably have a shared experience to talk about, which makes it much easier to speak to people you fancy" Read participants blog
Here it is folks! Due to popular demand i'm now launching my first couples yoga class! In some respects it's similar to the Singles Yoga in structure and format, except of course you get to stay with your own partner and practice the partner sequences and connection exercises together throughout the class.
So if you are looking to find new ways to connect with your current partner - a new shared activity, or you are a yoga fan who wants to introduce your partner to something you are already passionate about in a fun way (classes are suitable for all) then you are in the right place. Or maybe you just want to explore some previously unchartered territory; in these classes you get the opportunity to practice some connection exercises which offer the potential for some intimacy that may be missing in your relationship.
On top of all that you get to learn some funky yoga moves you can use at home!
AND IT'S FUN!!
And there you are! See you soon,
P.S I also teach a regular 'social' yoga class on Tuesday's open to all - where we practice yoga and then have a social after: Check it out via my other meetup group here: Social and Singles Yoga meetup
And on top of that I also organise a monthly Yoga Rave which you can join via my Yoga Rave meetup group.
And here you are you lucky things - here's a video showing what you might expect in one of my classes!
At each event, i'll also post a suggested age range too.
