The wind is supposed to give us a little bit of a break this week, so we're taking advantage and scheduling a Pilates Paddle Board Class! Challenge your core with our fitness instructor Leanne as she takes you through a full hour class on the water in beautiful Biscayne Bay. Space is limited so please reserve in advance. Pilates called his methodContrology because he believed that his method uses the mind to control the muscles.Pilates is a body conditioning routine that helps to not only build flexibility, but also strength, endurance, and coordination in the legs, abdominals, arms and back.

Paddle Boarding The sport (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sport) benefits athletes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sportsperson)with a strong 'core' workout. SUP'ing is popular at warm coastal climates (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate) is gaining in popularity as celebrities are sampling the sport, and cross-over athletes are training with SUP. Another reason for the rise in popularity of stand up paddleboarding is that, unlike surfing, paddleboarding is very easy to learn. Within one hour you can become very comfortable in the water and on your board. Stand up paddleboarding is also more popular with women because of their lower center of gravity, women are more often skilled at paddleboarding than men.

It does not matter if you have no experience in pilates or paddle boarding, we are here to teach. We welcome men and women of all ages :) Please meet us at Matheson Hammock Park on Tuesday, December 6th at least 20 to 30 mins before class starts so that we can choose the right board for you. Wear comfortable clothes, beach clothes or work out clothes. Avoid wearing pants, shorts are best! Please make sure to RSVP!
