The Young African consists of a dynamic group of like-minded individuals from Africa (North, East, South and West), of the diaspora, African heritage and of those simply with a strong interest in the peoples and culture of the continent.

After the anti-climax of university life, the group began as a small social network with the sole purpose of re-creating 'Fresher’s Week' every weekend for the recent graduate/postgrad-university-leaver-turned-full-time-employee.

With time however, the group, much like its growing membership has since matured and adapted to recognise the needs of its members by providing support through events and workshops in career, personal and business development.

While Fresher's Week no longer takes place every weekend, The Young African DOES NOT underestimate the importance of social events teeming with with clubs, bars, restaurants, cinema, casual hangouts and of course our lovable dipsomaniacs!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
