Walking the labyrinth is a time honored traditional in many cultures and faiths. Labyrinths provide us with sacred space, quiet time, and movement which help us release stored emotions in our body and to make contact with our higher selves and higher powers. Join us as we walk the labyrinth to commemorate the fall equinox, traditionally a time of letting go. We’ll spend about an hour meditating, walking, and sharing. Please note that we are meeting at 6 pm as sunset is at 7:21 pm.

The labyrinth we are walking is located behind an office building. If you drive to 205 S. Wild Basin Rd., you will turn left into the parking lot. You will see my blue minivan parked there. You can walk around either side of the two small buildings in front of you or you can walk between them. Continue walking down the hill possibly past the bathtub (yes, really) to the labyrinth. I highly recommend wearing tennis shoes or active wear sandals because the hill is slightly steep, and it is uneven soil. High heels are definitely not appropriate. The labyrinth itself is unpaved dirt, weeds, and stones including one huge divot. (If you aren't on the mobile app, it's the picture above.) For safety reasons, I want us to be finished before dark so no one ends up tripping over rocks or holes.

We’ll follow it up with dinner, dessert or drinks at The Grove, 6317 Bee Caves Rd.

Please bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on when we aren’t walking the labyrinth. There is a short stone wall that some of us can sit on. You will want to bring a journal and/or writing device for reflection after your walk.

As a courtesy to those in the group who are sensitive to fragrances, please refrain from wearing synthetic perfumes, colognes, and aftershaves. Essential oil based scents are fine in moderation. Please remember to wear fragrance free sunscreen and all natural bug repellant if you choose to use them. Elizabeth will provide all natural and fragrance free sunscreen as well as essential oil based bug repellant if you would prefer to just use those. (Anything you buy at Whole Foods or the like will be safer than mainstream offerings, but some do still have some toxic components to them.) There were mosquitoes there when I visited on a recent morning.

Mature teenagers are welcome to join in.

A $5 donation is requested but not required for this Meetup.
