Are p2p digital currencies going to supplant the failing centralised fiat money system? To introduce the idea behind digital currencies we will screen excerpts from the latest episode of the popular educational animations by Paul Grignon: Money ad Debt III, Evolution Beyond Money. This will be followed by an overview of the bitcoin (http://www.bitcoin.org/) cryptocurrency as well as the digital coin (http://www.digitalcoin.info/) proposed in the movie.
Film: Money as Debt III (2011), 90 minutes, English.
This third and final movie in the Money as Debt trilogy presents a comprehensive picture of http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/5/b/4/1/event_36263361.jpeghow “money” could work in the future. It is a blueprint full of surprising specifics for creating a nurturing economy with technologies that exist right now. It demonstrates why our primitive concept of money as a "single uniform commodity" is the root cause of money system dysfunction and a major factor in economic and social injustice.
"Money as Debt III, Evolution Beyond Money" illustrates in http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/6/c/0/d/event_36267661.jpegextensive and entertaining detail how a fundamental change in our long-held concept of money, paired with recent breakthroughs in technology, opens the door to a liberated, self-balancing and sustainable global money system. The viewer is guaranteed an abundance of food for thought, a clear vision of a desirable future, and a comprehensive education about “money”.
This event is free of charge.
Please make an effort to be on time. We will try to start at 7pm sharp to leave enough time for a debate after the movie and the presentation. There will probably be live music following the event.
