Pollinating insects are in crisis, with populations plummeting across the U.S. The work that these tiny animals do to sustain plants and food crops– usually working out-of-sight and out-of-mind– is critical to not just their survival but our own. So get your gardening gloves on and enjoy the sunshine (fingers crossed) as we help transform standard planting strips of grass into pollinator-friendly gardens.

Please bring gloves if you have them; all other tools will be provided. Also, small snacks and drinks will be provided, but please bring your own containers, as well as water.

The Pollinator Pathway is a mile long, 12 foot wide corridor
of pollinator friendly gardens being built along Seattle's Columbia
street. Begun as an exercise in ecology and urbanism in 2008 by
artist Sarah Bergmann, this public corridor supports pollinators by
strengthening and connecting two isolated green spaces (Seattle University's campus and a small woods called Nora's Woods). For more information: http://www.pollinatorpathway.com http://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/b/6/4/6/event_228406662.jpeg
