We will first learn your basic understanding of meditation and Buddhism, and help you learn from there, whatever your experience level, i.e., from curiosity to someone very familiar with the Dharma and meditation. The first 10 minutes of our Sunday meetings is walking meditation to the "wooden fish," followed by 35 to 40 minutes of sitting meditation (on a chair or on the floor). At noon, we listen to approximately 30 minutes of pre-recorded lectures by Ven. Jian Hu on "The Essence of Mahayana Practice" which is very practical teaching for daily living. Our interactive, live Zen Buddhism and sutra classes are scheduled at a different time. At the end, we often socialize a while. Ven. Jian Hu comes to Las Vegas about twice per year to lecture and give a half-day retreat.
