Coding Weekend: Intro to HTML, CSS and Javascript

Details
Join us for a fast-paced weekend of HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
This 12-hour intensive combination of lecture, hands-on exercises, and workshop will take place over two days, during which you will learn the basics of hand-coding the front end of a web site from scratch.
At the end of the class, you will have built a small site with elegant but simple interactivity. This is a fundamentals course with no prior coding knowledge required, but we do ask that you be a fluent user of computers and the web, due to the class pace.
Each day will run from 10:30am - 5pm with a 30m break for lunch (and other shorter breaks throughout the day).
You must have a laptop computer (not a tablet) with wireless internet capability and the following software installed: SublimeText 3 (or another text editor, if you have a strong preference), Google Chrome.

Elise is a front-end engineer and team leader whose specialties include JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, though she also has experience on the back end. She has been working with Girl Develop It Philly since 2012, creating, teaching, and assisting in numerous classes. A self-taught coder, the portfolio she submitted for her first full-time developer role included sites for an online RPG, an a cappella group, and her wedding. She is a mom, a crafter, a musician, and operates what her husband refers to as the 'gluten-free test kitchen' out of their home. Elise likes lists.
