Last May we did the first part of the Swiss Trail...going from R?tli to Isleten. It was a great hike with the best weather. This upcoming Sunday, I expect it to be again just as great.
The Swiss Trail goes around the Urnersee, one of the many interconnected lakes on the Vierwaldst?dtesee.
We start in Brunnen and hike along the lake all the way to Fl?elen.
The hike is around 5 hours long, but only going up and down 360m. On the way, many sightseeing and historical places expects us, just like the famous and legendary Tell's Platte. This hike should be doable for everyone, and, in the worst case, you can always take the transportation back.
More info on this trail you can find by clicking here http://www.weg-der-schweiz.ch/index.php/downloads/category/16-angebote.html?download=20%3Abrochure
The train schedule is as follow:
Z?rich HB ab 08:35 4 (don't complain...its not so early...you get to sleep one more hour anyway
Zug an 09:01 4
Zug ab 09:05 3
Brunnen an 09:36
If you miss us on the meeting location, go directly to the train to Zug and try to find us there.
The (tentative) return will be
Fl?elen ab 16:00 by ship
Brunnen an 16:48 an
Brunnen ab 17:21 ab
Z?rich HB an 18:25 (stops at Zug)
To take along:
- Sun/Wind/Rain protection of any kind (cloth, suncreme, glasses, etc)
- Good feast-like picknick
- Good steady shoes, sneakers will do for this hike as well.
I will buy a groupticket. Hence, please let me know if you want to be included and whether you have a GA, Halbtax or none. The groupticket gives us with a 20% discount plus reservation on train. The downside is that we have to be in a group the whole time when travelling. For those in Zug joining or elsewhere, maybe the groupticket won't suit you.IMPORTANT
Don't forget that this Sunday there is a daylight saving time change, meaning we go back one hour. So you can sleep a bit more :)
I reserve the right to postpone or change plans according to the weather. Please check the status of this event the night before after 20hrs.
Hope to see you then!
