Its been a couple of months since we went hiking so I’d like to do something this weekend. Less than an hour away from Zurich HB lies Einsiedeln from where we can complete an easy 2.5 hour hike to Rothenturm. The official description of this hike is as follows:
“The gently rolling hills exude serenity and tranquility. This is a paradise for visitors seeking seeking rest and recreation. The winter hiking tour takes you from Einsiedeln’s busy railway station to the hilly ridge of Rothenthurm’s High Moor. High up on the Chatzenstrick the fantastic panorama of the Alps of Central Switzerland spreads before your eyes. An easy descent takes you down to the Dritte Altmatt, where a level path leads through the snow-covered High Moor to Rothenthurm”
Sound nice? Then join us!
The idea is to start around 10am and get back to Zurich mid-afternoon.
