Meet other professionals and community members who are interested in and support accessibility and disability rights. We're dedicated to bringing together everyone interested in or affected by accessible design. Whether you work for a company and want to improve the accessibility of your products, live with a disability, or are just passionate about improving the accessibility of our community, this is the group for you. Our goal is to increase awareness of accessibility issues and work towards improving access to community activities, services and products for everyone.
Accessibility Meet-ups happen all over the US. It’s time for SLC to join the conversation. The Wasatch Front has such great tech and design resources and strong community engagement. Let’s make it a hub for digital accessibility and inclusive design. This group is about regularly bringing together community members who care about disability, accessibility and design to share ideas, best practices, our experiences and hopefully to raise the bar when it comes to creating an inclusive community.
Possible Topics/ Projects:
* DIY and Open Source Accessibility
* Art & Accessibility
* Accessible Route Maps (similar to a community bike map, with accessible routes identified)
* Inclusive Festivals (how do we make SLC's great festivals more accessible for people with disabilities?)
Collaborate with other professionals and community members to improve and protect the rights of all individuals to full community, public and private sector access. Meetings will be scheduled monthly. Our first meeting will be scheduled once we have a few interested members.
I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
