Want to give Acting a try?
For those who have never Acted before, the Carl Velas Acting Studio is now offering a series of eight sessions focusing on Dramatic Acting. This field will be explored by means of dramatic readings together with dramatic 'improvisations' derived from these readings. Each week will feature one short dramatic scene depicting some familiar conflict.
NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN ACTING is required, but if you've tried Acting once and want to give it another try, you're welcome to attend.
Classes will be held in a small Acting studio located in the Washington Heights area of Northern Manhattan, on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
MEMBERS MUST BE PROFICIENT in the use of the English language, as the classes rely heavily on reading from prepared scripts. Members may attend any or all classes.
All classes are free of charge.
All members take turns performing, and regardless of their skill level, will be 'cast' in the part. Come to class prepared to perform, not to watch!
