Helldorado Days Rodeo

Let's go to the rodeo! I am so excited about this event; I may just wake up and yell yeehaw each morning until it starts.
The Helldorado Rodeo is a non-profit community event that has donated more than $100,000 to local Las Vegas Charities in the past two years and over $4,000,000 since its inception in 1935. The Helldorado Rodeo is also the longest running civic event in Las Vegas.
This event is hosted by the Las Vegas Elks Lodge #1468. Tanya and I had the pleasure to meet up with them tonight and they are awesome people. They have invited us to be usher's each night.

What will we be doing?

• Ushers: We will be directing folks to their sections for the rodeo as well as checking each ticket to make sure it is for the proper date, etc. We will also have a view of the rodeo to watch it in between checking tickets.

The event is at 7th & Stewart, downtown. Parking for the event is free and located at the El Cortez parking garage. Feel free to park elsewhere if you would like, or if the garage is full. Once you arrive and enter the gates, there is a volunteer tent straight ahead, head to the tent to check in.

Volunteers should wear closed toed shoes and the rest of your wardrobe is up to you (keeping in mind this is a family event, shorts are fine, but they shouldn't be too short). Ushers will be supplied with a tan vest to wear over your shirt. Volunteer age limit is 14; however all volunteers under the age of 18 should have a parent with them to sign their waiver.

The Elks Lodge will provide food and water for their volunteers. If you would like to eat, please arrive earlier than the time posted. They need ushers to be at the rodeo 90min prior to start. The time posted on this event is the time that you should be checking into the volunteer tent, so please plan accordingly.

Please RSVP with integrity and if your plans change, please update your RSVP immediately. These folks really need the help and are counting on us to deliver. When you meet them and fall in love with them like we did, you will realize why we just cannot let them down 

The rodeo will last two hours, so in total, you will be volunteering for 3.5 hours. You may be there longer if you choose to grab a beer with us in the beer tent afterwards ;)
