Assist with the US Conference of Mayors

We first met Jack volunteering for the Helldorado Days with the Elks Lodge. Any of you that went to that event I'm sure can speak to what a great guy Jack is and the other members of the lodge. On top of a kind spirit, they are extremely organized when it comes to organizing volunteer events.

Jack has another event coming up and has asked if AOK can help. Unfortunately, all of our AOK organizers are busy, but I know that Jack can answer any questions you may have and will make it very organized and easy (not to mention fun :) ) to volunteer, please see below.

Volunteers are needed to assist Mayors and their families in town for the US Conference of Mayors at the Fremont Street Experience.  Volunteers will verify credentials to enter two private areas on Fremont Street and also walk on the street should any Mayors need assistance.

Volunteers are requested from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Saturday, June 22.  All volunteers will meet at the stage at First Street and Fremont.  Sign up here to volunteer and contact Jack Eslinger if you have any questions.  Jack can be reached At 596-5369.

Hope some of you will be able to help out - I wish I could be there!

Thank you to all of the awesome volunteers for this event. I think most of the mayors had a great time and I hope all of you did too. My apologies to those volunteers I did not get a chance to say good night too, this event certainly did not end the way I anticipated. Look forward to working with all of you again!

I thought it was enjoyable to meet and greet the Mayors. It gave me a chance to visit Freemont street and see it from the other side of the picket fence.

1 small change and some additional information:

I made a mistake when changing the original reporting location. Tomorrow we are going to meet at the First Street Stage (First and Fremont) at 5:30 PM. It is anticipated the majority of activity will be at the area around the Third Street Stage and north to Ogden, though we will have a total of four exclusive areas for the Mayors. We will greet each bus at the arrival locations and give the Mayors a site Map for Fremont Street. Parking: Anywhere you want to park is fine. Personally, I am going to try to park on the asphalt lot to the south of the Plaza Hotel, if they will let me. My second choice will be one of the Casinos. Just a reminder that my cell number is[masked] if you need anything or have any questions.

    Thank you!

    Jack

Jack, did you receive my e-mail with my shirt size? Thank you. See you tomorrow.

    June 21, 2013

  • Jack E.

It is not too late to join. Attire is comfortable but appropriate shorts/pants/ jeans/skirts. If you weren't able to pick up your volunteer shirt yet, send me your shirt size and I will bring to the event. The shirts are red polo shirts.

Where should we park tomorrow evening?

    June 21, 2013

  • Jack E.

Parking: park at your favorite downtown casino that validates. I am going to try to park in the lot just to the south of the Plaza by the parking garage (if they will Let me)
