Please join us on Sunday, April 15th 2012 as we proudly walk once again in the Las Vegas AIDS Walk.
For the past four years A.O.K. has joined forces with the very eclectic TEAM WINOS. Our team continues to grow each year due to the amazing support of A.O.K. This year the tradition continues!
We still walk because our lives and the lives of people we love have been forever touched by HIV/AIDS. We still walk because HIV/AIDS is non-discriminatory. It is blind to age, race, religion, gender, heritage, level of intelligence, financial status or your living condition. It is an equal opportunity infection that knows no boundaries.

Since the conception of TEAM WINOS in 2004 each year we walk with a different theme. This theme is carried out in our home made wacky team banner, the much sought after wine cork lei's, hats and anything else you care to don. You guessed it...2012 is the "Wild West" theme.
Event details:
*Opening Ceremony for the AIDS Walk is 9:00am-10:30am
*AIDS WALK 10:30am
*UNLV Campus
This VERY enjoyable walk is approximately 2 miles with MANY diversions along the way. There is no registration fee, but of course walkers are encouraged to help raise funds for this amazing charity event.
When you rsvp YES on the A.O.K. site, you must also register on the Aid for AIDS Of Nevada (AFAN) site as well. Just click on the link below and you'll be directed to the TEAM WINOS site....
Over the past several years TEAM WINOS has raised over $75,000 for programs and services to help those in our community living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. This year we have a goal to raise $8,000.00. We can do it, but we'll need your help.

Founded in 1984, Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) is the oldest and largest AIDS service organization in the state of Nevada. AFAN provides direct client service programs, food programs, prevention and education programs, and community outreach. It is the mission of their client service programs to enhance the physical health and psychosocial wellness of the individuals they serve, while promoting their dignity and improving the quality of their lives.
