Special Delivery

Special delivery! Come help deliver food pantry packages to homebound seniors in the valley on Saturday February 18th. Volunteers should have a good driving record and be able to carry 15-20 pounds.... You should arrive at The Helping Hands office at 8AM and sign in. You will be required to sign a waiver of liability. You will then be handed your pantry bags with a map. Most drivers take four or five bags. Then, you can be on your way. The client's phone number will be provided, and you are asked to pull over to give them a ring before you arrive at their residence so that they are sure that you will be there. (Please feel free to bring a passenger along to help with navigation and phone calls). Once at the residence, you will give the bag to the client, but we are asked not to enter the home. (You can simply explain that is against the rules). TYPICALLY YOUR TOTAL DELIVERY SHOULD TAKE NO MORE THAN TWO TO THREE HOURS .

Helping Hands has reserved five spots for us, so please, please RSVP with integrity.

This is not the type of event that lends itself to meeting together as a group. There will be many other individual and group there as well. When you arrive to check in, please identify yourself as an AOK member, take your bags and be on your way. Do not worry about finding or signing in with the AOK event organizer.
