On Monday, February 20th A.O.K. is back at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission (LVRM). We always get such positive feedback from LVRM for our great attitude and willing to work hard and pitch in (and A.O.K. loves when a spot opens up for us to come help out too!)
If you RSVP yes and your plans change, you must change your RSVP to No and please give adequate time for someone else to fill your space. LVRM really counts on our help and all volunteers that sign up are needed to ensure everyone that comes in hungry leaves full for at least this night. With that said RSVP with integrity. Also, AOK is the only volunteer group assisting on this day so PLEASE RSVP with with integrity!
The Las Vegas Rescue Mission was founded in 1970 to help the homeless and hungry. The non-profit Christian organization is a homeless shelter and recovery program dedicated to getting people off the streets.
The original LVRM was established in a tiny storefront. Today, it has grown to nine buildings, reaching from “D” to “F” streets in downtown Las Vegas and serves approximately 30,000 meals a month. Volunteers (that's us) serve 100's of meals every evening to the hungry men, women and children that pass through the doors each night.
Volunteer Duties:
Volunteers for this evening will need to arrive between 4:35-4:45. The dinner meal concludes at 6:00PM and you will be done cleaning the dining area by 6:30PM
Duties will include dishing up the cuisine of the evening, filling water glasses, passing out the utensils, salt, pepper, salsa and helping with the clean-up in the kitchen. No past experience working in a kitchen required.
Stylish aprons, hairnets and gloves will be provided by the LVRM. If you prefer to work the serving line please wear long pants.
Parking:
When you arrive at the security gate, please be sure to tell the guard that you are with A.O.K. There is plenty of secured parking onsite.
If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail.
