Have you ever reached a point in an adventure (race or not) where getting dirtier/wetter didn't matter any more? Did that feel like despair or freedom?

Yes-that's when I start thinking of Cheesburgers and a warm truck!

Have you ever mountain biked on a trail at night?

Yes, mostly in adventure races. I have a nice light system if someone needs to borrow it.

Have you learned how to use a compass and map to navigate?

Yes, I was introduced to navigation from the military. I do real good most of the time. But, I'm always due for a "duh?" anytime.

Have you participated in an adventure race before? What is interesting to you about AR?

Yes-almost 20 ARs, lots of other events too. Getting out into the outdoors with good people makes AR such a cool sport. I also like to see how the RD has used the terrain and limitations to put a race togethor. These folks are the true heros of AR.

What's your strongest AR discipline - biking, paddling, trekking, ropes, navigation? Your weakest?

strong-biking / weak-ropes

Introduction

I've been Adventure Racing since 2005. My first race was the Swamp Fox near Charleston SC.
