Seattle Outdoor Adventurer’s Meetup is about bringing people together. We are a community from various backgrounds, but our common thread is outdoor adventure. We do this wearing hiking boots, skis, backpacks, snowshoes, kayaks, cycling helmets, and even swim trunks.
The Pacific Northwest is unique. Not only do we have great mountain ranges and costal waterways, but most of our state is still very wild. During our explorations, we are respectful of nature and promote a leave-no-trace philosophy.
Along with exploring wild country comes risk. Multiple dangers include falling, hypothermia, disorientation, and a whole range of injuries that follow active sports. With this in mind, we stress outdoor safety and self-reliance. This is important and practiced without exception. All members must sign the liability waiver and carry The 10 Essentials.
