What we’re about
Enjoy outdoor activities with other outdoor enthusiasts. If you're looking for a group to hike, walk, bike (road, greenway, trails, or single track), kayak, ski, sail, fish, boat, or some other outdoor activity during the week, join us. Most activities are scheduled between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on weekdays. But the group offers outdoor activities every day of the week. The group is not focused on any particular activity. We do a lot of different activities on a relaxed level. Members range in age from their 20's to 70's with the majority of members being in their 40's, 50's, and 60's. Reference the group "Calendar" for past and upcoming activities. While members are welcomed to bring adult guests, unless specifically noted, the events are not suitable for children or dogs.
Since we are looking to keep the group full of active people, we do remove members who are not utilizing the events offered. Members will be removed as follows:
If they have attended 0 or 1 event, but none in the past 6 months
If they have attended 2-4 events, but none in the past 9 months
If they have attended 5 or more events, but none in the past 12 months
Members who have been deleted are able to rejoin at any time.

Counterclockwise day! Starting from the new visitor center near the end of Cole Mill Rd, going past the swinging bridge we'll make for the eastern half of the Buckquarter Creek loop, head up the Ridge trail, hike CCW on the Shakori and upper Ridge, come down the Fieldstone to Holden's Mill, and hike its big and small loops CCW. Then back to parking via the other half of Buckquarter Creek trail.
This should total around 7-8 miles, and we'll be cruising along at 2.75-3mph so we can enjoy the Eno's birds, frogs, snakes, and wildflowers - with a Cicada serenade! We should be back before 12:45.
