Spamming the Group

Due to the increasing amounts of Spam from the ideas feature I have turned it off. I like the ideas function because it lets us know what the members are interested in and it is a pretty simple tool to use, but even with kicking members out of the group after they spam, we are getting more of them each day. I have been proactive once or twice and when someone spammed one of my groups I kicked them out of all of my groups before they had a chance to spam the others, but that takes a wee bit too much time, and with spammers setting up free email accounts, the meetup antispam tools don't work all that well. When they fix the feature I'll turn it back on.

I have also requested that meetup allow me to put the same restrictions on ideas that I have put on messages to the group, where I have to review and approve them first.

If you want to get them to move on that, then please go to the meetup features page to vote, they address the most important things first and this is ranked #147 currently:

Thanks for being an active member in our group and thanks for not spamming.
