This event is to see which amazing creatures rule the seas after dark. When most of us are comfy in front of the fire, strange things happen underwater. Come witness it all.

What to expect:

One of the Wellington’s most spectacular adventure experiences: diving the south coast by night.

This is an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Adventure Wellington members to dive the marine reserve by night vision.

The marine life really come out to play at night and we will be entering the water at twilight when all marine life are most active.

Cost: $15 cash on the day plus equipment hire (if required)

What to Bring:

Snorkel, mask, fins, wetsuit (7mm recommended, 5mm minimum), booties (depending on the type of fins you use) Scuba Gear (for those who wants to scuba) Something to eat and drink afterwards, you will be refreshed and probably a bit cold. Towel Warm clothes for afterwards Torch / light for getting dressed / undressed Underwater Torch (essential) Pajamas (for an exclusive photo opportunity) Remember if you need to hire gear Dive Wellington will provide special rates for members, just call in or phone Dave, Paula or Bart on 939 3483. Alternatively Claire will always give you a great deal at Dive & Ski HQ Petone, 568 5028. You may be able to arrange for a city pickup and dropoff of the hire gear rather than from Petone. Please arrange your gear hire at least one day in advance.

Want to Scuba?

Those who wants to scuba are more than welcome.

As well as showing you around the site I will describe and introduce marine life you will encounter in the Wellington region.

An easy introductory night dive for anyone who wants to join us.

You can also credit this dive towards your PADI Advanded Open water certification but please arrange with Raymond prior to the event.

IMPORTANT

For those who scuba, you must have at least an Open water scuba certification with 10 plus dives following certification. For those who are snorkelling it is essential that you can snorkel without fear of the ocean.

This event is weather dependent and date or location can be changed at relatively short notice. Please keep an eye on the comments.
