Esther Derby is an acclaimed writer, speaker, and consultant in the agile community. She has written two great books in the agile leadership space... one called 'Agile Retrospectives: Making Good Teams Great', and another called 'Behind Closed Doors: Secrets of Great Management'. Esther will be in town doing a workshop on Agile Retrospectives and has agreed to come and speak for us. This is a combined meeting with Agile Atlanta and will be held at the Matrix offices, just down the road from IGH. It is really so close you could walk there. You can head over to the Agile Atlanta site ( for more information and directions. Hope to see you there!

She was a cheerful, warm and engaging speaker. She used a game at the beginning to establish a framework for her discussion. It was a very enjoyable time.

Esther's presentation and approach was very thought provoking and insightful. We got to a slightly late start and ended late, but otherwise the session was a winner in my book, and I'd love to attend more of same.

Fantastic Meeting. Exercise did a great job in getting us to see some of the dysfunctions in current organizations. Good information and great examples on using Containers, Differences and Exchanges to make changes.

Containers, Differences, and Exchanges form a useful model for indicating problem sources and suggesting solutions.

Great topic - excellent speaker - interactive and worth the time/effort.

Thanks to everyone who put this together and the 50+ of us who came out and made it a worthwhile interaction!

It was nice to meet the Agile Atlanta folks. Esther's group exercise was disappointing and I left during it. I hope her talk was better.

Great insight into how things get bogged down due to containers and differences.
