Leadership-Level Teamwork @ Spotify

In this presentation, George and Anders will give us some candid insight into how the Tribe leadership group works together as a team at Spotify NYC. They'll share details about the many activities and experiments they've done in the spirit of building the best tech organization possible, including workshops, tools, etc.

Amazing presentation! Thank you, George and Anders! It is unbelievable how many topics you were able to cover in such a short time - Agile processes, tech excellence, your org structure - tribes, chapters, and guilds, OKRs, team values ("Five Dysfunctions of a Team" by Patrick Lencioni is one of favorite books of Kaplan Agile Coaches as well), finance (or rather, absence of budget approvals) and so many other inspirational and informative topics you spoke about. Hope you will be able to come to our meetup again next year and share your further experience with you Agile implementation. May I suggest a topic: Product Owner role at Spotify?

    Thanks,
    Dana

Hi D, we recorded the first few but ultimately decided that we should maximize the in-room experience, as we want folks to get together in one room and, well, meet up! To get good audio, we needed to pass a mic for questions, and we found that limited audience interaction to wait for the passing of the mic. Plus remote folks can't eat all the good food! I'll certainly pass on the hi, see you soon!

Right, I figured there was a strategy to that :) I leave you to consider this then... The Huge meetup uses the service offered by livestream.com pretty successfully and they are always well attended. As an attendee of several other meetups I've found that high attendance is really based on how compelling the events are. People are drawn to great speakers, networking opportunities and of course free food :) Having virtual attendees increases your reach which further promotes your "brand".
