Welcome fellow Agnostics, Atheists, Humanists and other Freethinkers! This group will be a home for anyone in the Triangle area who doesn't practice a particular religion and might be looking for a friendly secular forum for discussion.

We welcome Atheist, Agnostic, Humanist and open-minded Deist brothers and sisters who agree that reason, compassion and free will are more important than obedience to religious institutions or religious dogma as a foundation for a moral and ethical society.  A progressive inclination toward social justice, environmentalism, peace and personal liberty also inform this group's philosophy.

While freethinkers may disagree on some finer points of our "atheology," I believe our interests and goals are very much the same, and our differences will offer opportunities for good discussions. With luck, we'll make some new friends, have some fun, learn something, do some good and maybe even change some minds along the way!
