DB design performance tips and tricks

Details

So your database has millions of rows? We've got your back.

Join us for an intermediate level talk on database performance tips and tricks given by group member Eli Aschkenasy. This talk is tailored for the developer, but I'm sure everyone will take home at least one helpful tip, even if you think you know it all.

The meetup will be at the new OfficeSpace CoWorking's Tech Lab (http://www.osctechlab.com/) in downtown Akron above the House of Hunan. They are just opening the doors this month, so worst case scenario we'll be meeting at their other location in the bottom corner of the Huntington building.

Let me know if the comments if you're interested in food / drinks before or after the meetup.

Heads up, there is handicap access to the Tech Lab but there are unfortunately no handicap access bathrooms.

Some backstory on Eli:

Eli was born in Switzerland where he first dabbled in programming on his IBM PC (whopping 4.77 MHz processor). He studied at Technion University in Israel, where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Software Engineering. The majority of his career has been spent working as the Director of IT for a local college, which allowed him to gain an understanding of both the technical as well as the management aspects of a wide variety of projects.

In addition, he enjoyed participating in various speaking and training engagements for topics such as MySQL and Joomla! Development and heads the local Joomla! user group. Due to his unique international experience, he gained a different perspective about web design and development leading him to found TheModularWay late 2010 to create a honest, dynamic personal service within the Cleveland area web-development community. Over the past few years he has designed DB intensive solutions for clients such as GE and DuPont.
