Saturday, February 2 - Noon-5 PM: Hackathon - TechLove, 3901 Central NE (Nob Hill)

Thursday, February 7 - 7 PM: Website Presentations, Critique & User Testing at the monthly WordPress Meetup - WESST, 609 Broadway Blvd NE

The Hackathon at WordCamp 2012 was a huge hit, so we're doing it again. Everyone in the Albuquerque WordPress community is invited to participate in our next Hackathon focusing on three hand-selected community projects.

Join your fellow designers, developers and bloggers working together in teams to create professional websites for as-yet undisclosed non-commercial clients. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and practice with other local WordPress professionals while giving back to the community in a meaningful way. Plus, it's a lot fun!

Querencia Green
Contact: Joanne McEntire

Querencia Green aims to connect people who care about the ecological and social well-being of Albuquerque’s neighborhoods to empower them to build a cooperative culture to meet essential needs. Our vision is to restore “querencia,” a sense of home and care for place, in Albuquerque neighborhoods. Our social challenge is to move from fragmented, individual action to working together and to celebrate effort and success. We have started to build a basic site centered around a blog at http://querenciagreen.wordpress.com/ .

Nano Network of New Mexico

The Nano Network of New Mexico (NNNM) is an emerging New Mexico-based, non-profit network promoting the commercialization of both micro and nano-scale technologies from federal, state, and industry assets, while supporting supplier-to-end user networking and business matchmaking. The NNNM focuses on the distinct challenges behind the entrepreneurship, commercialization, investment, legal, manufacturing, workforce development, and safety considerations of converging "small & smart" technologies. Current site: http://NanoNet-NM.org

If you'd like to participate on a team for the 2013 Hackathon, or just come to watch and support the event, RSVP with a YES to this MeetUp. We'll contact you with all the details as they become available.

If you know of an organization that would benefit from a professionally designed, non-commercial WordPress website, let us know. The project review committee is currently accepting applications.

Special thanks to Brownrice Internet and Southwest Cyberport for offering web hosting services to help our winning organizations get started with their websites!
