2013 International Primaling Association's Summer Conference and Retreat is a six-day event scheduled for August 19 - 25th. We have a modern comfortable convention site near Baltimore, MD, varied, expert, and caring presenters, and an all around terrific enjoyable convention package for the entire IPA community and welcome quests!

Some of the features already confirmed include Dave Paxson, President of Biodynamic Cranial-Sacral and Chairman or the Cranial-Sacral Association, who has many mind-body deep feeling techniques to share with us. He's organized Cranial-Sacral conferences and trainings, as well as sponsoring a regional event for the Association of Pre- and Perinatal Pschology and Health.
We also welcome back Hakomi Institute instructor and tribal dance extraordinaire, Laurie Schwartz. Her drumming and leadership of dancing and drawing also brought the IPA to new heights -- literally as a small platform was provided from which each member shined. Stuart Friedman will offer an extended workshop on "Internal and External Support." He touched many of us at the 2012 Convention with these evocative feeling and supportive skills from Hakomi. You have to be there to experience these! And you won't want to miss "Becoming Superhuman," a new topic from Dr. Wayne Carr, Seattle psychotherapist who is involved in the Integral movement and Gestalt.
Community building led by a self-described hermit? Folks laughed at the idea, but Thayer White really did deliver at the beginning of the 2012 convention. We all felt the good feelings, the camaraderie and the caring for one another that resulted from those "simple" exercises Thayer led us through. Those good feelings lasted for the entire six days and beyond too. As a result, most everyone always had someone they wanted to sit next to at meals or at workshops or to hang out with for a while. Community feeling was the best ever! Thayer promises to do it again in 2013. He also is thinking of presenting two convention workshops in 2013 titled: "Primal Lies" and "When Primal Is Not Enough."
Some other special things this year involve our IPA artists: Yes, we'll ask Harvard Master of Arts student and IPA veteran Karuna O'Donnell back to lead yoga. However there are two more gifted artists now among our membership. Julie Eliason will bring back the "painting room," and offer two workshops including Creativity and something else on art therapy with post-traumatic stress, as well as possibly letting us pick from her gallery for a beautiful brochure design. Illustrator Robert Johnson with his knowledge and experience in bioenergetics and the impact of circumcision, may also be making a composite caricature as Convention 2013 developes. So get on board now to be drawn into a great community picture! Michigan therapist Diane Arman will be making a new presentation on how to make progress in emotional healing and growth every day. She has also researched procedures for obtaining Continuing Education Units through attendance at the IPA Convention and will advise anyone interested. And don't forget the wonderful group of IPA regulars. Barbara Bryan is always on hand with Therapists' Groups and techniques. Primal theater and movement therapy from New York City professionals such as Anne Bassen and Art Brown. Therapeutic Communications experts such as Mickey Judkovics with NVC and Philip Rivers with mindfulness offer diverse presentations.
Massage therapists Randy Goldberg offering a more extensive Family Constellation workshop by popular demand and Jan Owens presenting more on the somatic theme that she introduced in 2012. So many ways to feel! Count on Dr. Alice Rose to bring together primal connections from spiritual to sexuality.
