I have a proposition for you...
Should you not find a suitable roommate quickly, might you consider a short term lease?
I am moving to Nottingham next month from Boulder CO and I am in need of temporary housing.  I am older, and I am coming with my 13 year-old son (he is super respectful and quiet).  

Let me know if you might be interested in having a conversation.
Where are you located? As that I do not know the area, a reference point/location would be most helpful.
