(10/15/12 - 10/21/12) 日本語のクラブ This week's topic to post on the Facebook page + recap!

This week's Facebook topic is: Holidays! Do you plan to celebrate any holidays in November/December and if so, what do you plan to do?

The busiest and most stressful time for American personal lives is fast approaching. Oh yes! But other than tears and weight gain, what are your plans? Will you go on vacation? Throw parties? Cosplay? You are all very interesting group members and I am excited to find out how you celebrate!

November will be a busy month for our Group as well and we will have no less than 3 Events! But in deference to the fact that people do get so busy around this time of year, Lauren's Japanese Karaoke Event on December 1st will be our last Event for 2012. But don't worry! We have many things planned for 2013  :)

We have 4 upcoming Events (3 in November and 1 in December). Please RSVP for these upcoming Events as soon as you can!

Nathaniel's  Shabu-Shabu and Japanese Conversation on Saturday, November 3rd:

Emily H's  日本交流会 Japanese x American Cultural Exchange Party on Saturday, November 12th:

Linda's  Day Trip to JAPAN in NYC on Sunday, November 11th:

Lauren's  All-Japanese Karaoke on Sunday, December 1st:

This past week, we had great Facebook posts from Emily C, Eilis, Michelle, Sam, Holly and Edward. Thank you so much. Your posts remind us that we are not alone in our Japanese quest. So everybody's personal Japanese study is moving forward at a steady clip, yes? As for me, I have been using Skritter on iPhone and it has been quite effective. I can even skritter while walking to and from the subway each day and while waiting on line for breakfast and lunch. In fact, Skritter and Umai Kanji have been so effective for reading and writing and speech that I was able to correctly pronounce the Japanese title of Emily H's cultural exchange party (日本交流会) on the first try! :)

See you on Facebook!

Japanese Language 24/7 Policy: Inactive (non-participating) members will be gently deleted from our roster on a weekly basis. The definition of "inactive" is a member who does not post on Facebook OR attends any Group Events for 30 consecutive days. To be considered "Active" and to avoid being gently deleted, come to at least 1 Meetup Event a month OR post at least 1 Facebook post a month. Thank you. And I am always available for any questions or help in regard to Japanese language. If you want or need help, please ask. We are all here to learn WITHOUT judgment or trolling. The only bad Japanese that will get you booted from this group is NO Japanese (or being a no-show at an Event.)
