Details
Come out to our Monthly Meeting! This month our meeting is chock full of information and activism. We'll be discussing our usual group business of course, but we also have a great speaker lined up every month.
La Tausha Nedd is Community Organizer of The Georgia Citizen’s Coalition on Hunger, a grassroots non-profit organization with a mission to end hunger, homelessness and poverty in the State of Georgia. She works regularly with TANF recipients, as their activist and trainer of TANF guidelines and regulations. She also is the lead Organizer on the “Minimum Wage Campaign”, which is the effort to get the State minimum wage of $5.15 per hour raised to $10 per hour in 2010. As a Community Organizer for the Hunger Coalition La Tausha works to achieve the well being for all families, so their basic necessities of life are met. This includes having access to nutritious affordable food, safe and affordable housing, affordable comprehensive heath care and a quality education for everyone. Prior to her current position, she was the Southern Regional CPA for Wayne Farms LLC.
A native New Yorker, La Tausha now lives in the Metro- Atlanta area. La Tausha is a graduate of The University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She worked as a CPA for The Verizon Network in Manhattan, New York until migrated to Georgia after the disaster on September 11 at The World Trade Center.
La Tausha is known for her vibrant straight forward attitude that inspires people to become engaged and involved in the work for poor impoverished neighborhoods and people.
