Android and Design

  • Mar 12, 2014 · 6:45 PM

Contrary to popular belief, Android design is not an oxymoron. We'll have talks from:

- Dave Redding & Walter Dziemianczyk, developers at Touch Lab, will present about "dark patterns," UI/UX that isn't in Android design documents but are widely used.

- Kevin Grant, Android engineer at Tumblr, will be talking about creating uniquely designed and branded applications. The take away is a fresh perspective on how to interact with your designers, or if you don't have a designer, how to rethink how you approach design.

- Deniz Veli, engineering manager, and Paul Lau, product designer, will be giving a talk together about end-to-end Android design @ Etsy, with tips on taking designs and making them reality.

Pizza, beer and soda will be provided by Tumblr!
Doors open 6:45pm.
Presentations begin promptly at 7:20pm.
