It's been a busy 2013 at Tapgram HQ!
We're off to a great start with some exciting new enhancements that we hope will make keeping in touch with the people you care about even easier. It's so exciting to see a range of people really embrace Tapgram for their own needs, like Shannon Putman, a Mulit Modal Communication Classroom Teacher in Kentucky: "Tapgram gives my students with special needs the ability to express themselves with ease. Tapgram is helping those who do not have one, find their voice
." Thanks Shannon!
Daily Summaries - Respecting the Inbox
All new accounts are now defaulted to a daily summary. While we know that some people want to get an email every time a friend creates a Tapgram, we also know that having Tapgram default to that setting might be a little overwhelming for your inbox - especially if your friends are active users. If you signed up before Feb 10th, then you can click a box on your friend's list to turn on the daily summary of your friends' activity. Of course you can still toggle individual friends on and off, depending on what you would like. Also, you might have noticed that when more than one Tapgram is composed within a short period, we consolidate them into a single email.
It's been really fun to watch people use the custom icon function to personalize their tapboards. Even just renaming our existing icons can make Tapgram a much more personalized communication tool. .
We created this coloring page to make it easy for younger users to turn their drawings into icons.
For therapists and family members who want to manage multiple accounts. Our new enhanced admin dashboard allows you to easily create accounts for others. We heard you on keeping it simple
. Email addresses for these "sub-accounts" are now optional
. For users who don't have easy access to email, this should make the account creation and management process easier!
More icons coming soon
We'll be adding more icons into the gallery from a special guest artist
. Stay tuned for an update soon! Also, please feel free to suggest new icons! We're making new ones all the time.
For users who want to autopost their Tapgrams to Facebook, good news! We are zeroing in on completion of Facebook autoposting. Soon, in a settings menu called "Social", you'll be able to connect a Facebook account to Tapgram, making your updates visible to your Facebook friends. Are users interested in posting their Tapgrams to Twitter as well? Let us know, its on our to-do list, but we're not sure how high up to put it at this point.
Compliments, complaints, suggestions
We LOVE feedback. And at this stage we are making significant adjustments to Tapgram every week. Your feedback really makes a difference. Just email [address removed], or use our feedback tab in settings. We read it all really carefully!
Please spread the word
If you know someone who might benefit from Tapgram - or a speech pathologist, therapist, and educator, please don't hesitate to forward this email to them and help spread the word about Tapgram. We've been really excited to hear about the variety of ways that awesome people like Shannon Putman are using Tapgram and know that there are many others who can benefit from this simple messaging system.
