Thank you to all those who attended Advocacy 101 "Reaching Out with Compassion". It was a great night full of useful thoughts, tips, and experiences!

A big thank you to Jeff Boghosian and Julie Nicolazzi for being our amazing speakers! Their years of animal advocacy were a great resource for us to learn so much from!

Another big thanks go to Dan Hargest at Acme Prints for being so gracious to let us hold an event at his one-of-a-kind print shop once again! And to member Bryce Tyler Goodson for taking such fabulous photos of the event!

Jeff Boghosian, discussing the philosophy behind leafleting and how to effectively reach out with compassion.

Julie Nicolazzi, giving tips on how to be an effective leafleter and advocate for the animals every day.

At this event we explored how focused, effective animal advocacy allows us to instill immediate influence every single day. Promoting cruelty-free eating in a positive and welcoming manner allows us to alleviate as much suffering as possible, for three reasons: the numbers, the suffering, and the opportunity. 99 of every 100 animals killed in the United States are killed for food. Animals raised for food suffer tremendously, from birth to slaughter. Through vegetarian advocacy, every single person we meet is a potential victory and the exponential amount of change that we each can make is incredible. The opportunity to influence many people with a small amount of effort is huge!

Getting the information into people's hands is of the most importance to Animal Advocates of Arizona, so our group will be incorporating an increase in public outreach at a grassroots level by way of leafleting.

If you were unable to attend, I strongly encourage you to read the insightful and powerful essay "A Meaningful Life." The essay can be found online at this link: A Meaningful Life.

To find information on and to RSVP to the upcoming leafleting events Animal Advocates of Arizona has scheduled, please visit our Calendar of Events. We will be updating our calendar regularly with new leafleting opportunities, so please continue to check back!

REMINDER: Our group's Leafleting Team Coordinator, Kirby Mauro, will be keeping a separate e-mail list for those that would like to be kept up-to-date on leafletings that may not necessarily be posted on our meetup site. To receive these periodic email invites, please email Kirby at with a request to be on the list.

We look forward to seeing you at upcoming events!
