Where to meet:

Since I'm driving, we'll have to meet there for 12:30. I'll be sitting in the foyer or at least near it.

How to get there.

Take the 100 Flemingdon Park bus from Eglinton or Broadview Station and get off at Garamond St. I don't remember how the TTC works so it's better to ask the driver to tell you when you get there.

Yes, its Gantz! Gantz! GANTZ! the live action extravaganza in a double bill that's cheaper than 1 TIFF movie!

I know what you're thinking: how do you condense all that abysmal horror, fervent futility, and dispirited dispiritedness into less than 5 lousy hours of movie? Are the Japanese really that skilled at minute-urization?

Well, just look at the critics' reactions:

C+

B-

0.5/5 stars!

And these are guys who read and loved the manga!

What's it mean? Simply put, all that negative stuff is gone or glossed over, leaving only the cool, fun stuff. NB, I didn't say there's a happy ending.

So if you want the real Gantz! you are warned but if you want a Japanese mainstream attempt of one of the bleakest series around (leaving in just the good bits, and little gore) come on up/down/sideways. Just do it.

I also know its early and you've probably already downloaded them, but it's good to get out at least once in a while and watch something on a big screen with a buch of people you've never met! Even if it's Gantz! the Live.

And of course, some simple math:

no show = strike

3 (strike) = out
