From Whitmore Lake. Love the community aspect...sharing tips, tricks, help, and project ideas, plus interesting conversation. There's always an expert around to teach me something new or get me out of a jam.

What types of knitting (or crocheting) do you like to do?

I almost always bring a camera to catch the moment, and to photograph all of us, so I can remember names and new faces.

How long have you been knitting?

Since late August, 2006, when it rained for 2 days on Mackinac Island.

Are you a member of Ravelry, the online knitting community? If so, what is your Ravelry username?

    Good to see you last night. It's always a blast for me to make music. Fun meeting your friend Steve. We obviously share a lot of technology experience in our lives and careers. Enjoy your beautiful tenor uke. I'm more than just a little envious.

    I've worked on a method and made 3 @ realtively "true" drop spindles -
    1 @ 3/8 Walnut shaft and Osage Orange whorl;
    1 @ 3/8 Walnut shaft and Honey locust whorl; and
    finally 1 @ 3/8 cherry shaft and walnut whorl
    With a metal pin in the base should they get dropped to hit the ground, they ought to be durable - I just need to take pictures

    I'll be working on walnut knitting needles, and hope to have several pair of larger ones (~3/8 diameter) ready for this coming Tuesday's meet-up at the Common Cup.

    I've made a few drop spindles, and checked them for runout (offcentered-ness) when spinning and there's a little.
    I will want some feedback & suggestions on what to fix on these, and if there's any interest in them.

    Hi Linda,
    No honestly, I do not knit (...well) but I make wooden stuff for knitters who do knit well; and I hope to learn a bit more about what knitters might want or struggle with. I guess I will bring a specialized bowls for knitters, as well as nostepinnen, and perhaps if I can make some before tomorrow, some wooden knitting needles. When can you next make it yourself?

    Linda, Thanks for getting in touch with me. I can't go either (I'm ill), so no harm done. Too bad, I was looking forward to it.
