Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) with intro by Ann Glenn

Bow Tie Cinema at the Harbour Center continues its ongoing weekend "Cine Classic" Film Series with the much-loved 1961 romantic comedy, Breakfast at Tiffany's. Starring Audrey Hepburn in her most iconic role, the film, based on a Truman Capote novella, also introduced the song "Moon River."

Directed by Blake Edwards, Breakfast at Tiffany's manages to blend romantic fantasy with bold-for-its-time realism. Yet it never loses its basic charm and sweet wistfulness.

Here's the trailer:  http://www.tcm.com/mediaroom/video/157995/Breakfast-at-Tiffany-s-Original-Trailer-.html

My commentary begins at 10:30 and includes little known/fascinating facts about the film's stars, director and production.  The film starts at 11:00 a.m. Audience questions and comments are encouraged both before and after the screening.

Admission is $5.50 ($4.50 with a Bow Tie free Criterion Club card which can be obtained online at Bow Tie's website or at the theater.)

Be sure to check out Bow Tie Harbour 9's website for the complete list of their weekend "Cine Classic" films for November and December.
