We are proud to announce the fourth Apache Meetup NL 2012, this time in Amsterdam on October 16th at 17:30. The topic for this evening session is Apache CloudStack (Incubating) (http://incubator.apache.org/cloudstack/).
The session is organized by and hosted at Hippo. The location is "Hippo B.V. Oosteinde 11 1017 WT Amsterdam The Netherlands". How to get there is explained in details below.
Drinks and food will be available, courtesy of Citrix (http://www.citrix.com), the company behind Apache Cloudstack (Incubating) code donation to Apache. The location will be able to accommodate a maximum of 30 people, so make sure you sign up to ensure your spot!
As usual for these meet-ups, we do not have a fixed agenda for the evening. People are encouraged to contribute whatever questions, talks or discussions and we will finalize the agenda at the meet up. Feel free to propose something beforehand, but you can also do that right here on the meet up site.
One item on the agenda will be "Say hi to the new incubating project: CloudStack!" by Wido den Hollander, one of the CloudStack committers living in Amsterdam. He will also give an insight about what is going on now in CloudStack and what are the areas where new people can jump in and help with the development of CloudStack.
Apache CloudStack (Incubating) is software designed to deploy and manage large networks of virtual machines, as a highly available, highly scalable Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud computing platform. Apache CloudStack (Incubating) is used by a number of service providers to offer public cloud services, and by many companies to provide an on-premises (private) cloud offering.
Apache CloudStack (Incubating) currently supports the most popular hypervisors: VMware, Oracle VM, KVM, XenServer and Xen Cloud Platform. Apache CloudStack (Incubating) also offers bare metal management of servers, using PXE to provision OS images and IPMI to manage the server. Apache CloudStack (Incubating) offers three methods for managing cloud computing environments: an easy to use Web interface, command line tools, and a full-featured RESTful API.
