Railsea! - February Book

I'm going to venture old school for now and take this one to Noc Noc, where this all began.

And it should be fun since this book has come highly suggested to me by a friend. As follows:

From Amazon: "On board the moletrain Medes, Sham Yes ap Soorap watches in awe as he witnesses his first moldywarpe hunt: the giant mole bursting from the earth, the harpoonists targeting their prey, the battle resulting in one’s death & the other’s glory. Spectacular as it is, Sham can’t shake the sense that there is more to life than the endless rails of the railsea—even if his captain thinks only of hunting the ivory-colored mole that took her arm years ago. But when they come across a wrecked train, Sham finds something—a series of pictures hinting at something, somewhere, that should be impossible—that leads to considerably more than he’d bargained for. Soon he’s hunted on all sides, by pirates, trainsfolk, monsters & salvage-scrabblers. & it might not be just Sham’s life that’s about to change. It could be the whole of the railsea."

Whatever the hell that means!! Let me know of any holiday scheduling conflicts as I'm notorious for those, and hope to see you there.

Had a GREAT time at the Noc Noc meeting some of the group! The discussion and differing opinions (and booze! Hehe) are what make for a fantastic time this evening! I'm excited to get together next month and strengthen some friendships I began to foster tonight.

Oh no! I just realized I won't be back from LA in time for the meetup. Amazing book, and hope to make the next meetup.

Wish I could go to this, because I've read it and every other China Mieville novel (except for "Kraken", I love 'em all), but I've got something going on on Sunday evening - Noc Noc is a great place, too...
