apps.berlin.js is a Berlin.js spin-off with a special focus onJavaScript-driven applications (“HTML5 apps”) running in the browser.This includes desktop browser apps as well as mobile apps and games written in JavaScript.

It will take place on Thursday, February 28, 2013, around 7 PM at the co.up co-working space (co-up.de (http://co-up.de/)), Adalbertstr. 7-8, 10999 Berlin, third floor. The co.up is located near the U-Bahn station Kottbusser Tor (lines U1, U8) and the bus station Adalbertstraße/Oranienstraße (lines M29, 140).

Irina Dumitrascu (https://twitter.com/dira_geek_girl) shares her experience in refactoring a Backbone application. Irina highlights how the well-known MVC pattern actually makes sense and helps you to write complex apps in a simpler way.

Thinking Tags: Rapid Prototyping of CSS layouts

Dirk Jesse (http://www.highresolution.info/) presents Thinkin Tags (http://www.thinkintags.com/), an ambitious, jQuery-UI-powered online editor for creating CSS layouts using the popular YAML CSS framework (http://www.yaml.de/).

Hoodie – Look Ma, no Backend!

Jan Lehnardt (https://twitter.com/janl) and Alex Feyerke (https://github.com/espy) talk about Hoodie (https://github.com/hoodiehq), a library for creating fully-featured apps that run solely in browsers. Hoodie aims to take away the pain that is the backend.
