FREE Intro to Win 8 App Development Workshop

Details
This is a FREE 4 hour workshop for the absolute beginner who wants to learn how to build Microsoft Windows 8 apps.
Matt Harrington (Technical Evangelist, Microsoft) will be hosting a 4 hour hands-on introduction to App Development for Windows 8. You can check out his blog at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/matt-harrington/
Participants should bring a computer with them. If you don't have a Win 8 computer, not to worry we will be setting up other Windows and Mac OSX systems to work with the development tools. Bring what you have and we will make it work. There is no charge for any of the tools. You don't have to have anything special installed before hand. Mac users will be given a Win8 virtual machine image that works for development. The tools and virtual machine images will also work on other platforms. Just bring your computer and power adapters. FREE wifi will be provided.
Student will learn hands-on how to create Apps in Windows 8 for submission into the Windows 8 store. The focus will be on game programming and some game templates will also be provided. We will create some apps hands-on during this workshop so you want to have a computer to work with.
If you are a college student (at any college and any level) you can participate in the Microsoft contest described on Matt's blog (link above). You DO NOT need to be a college or other student to participate in this workshop. You do not need to participate in the contest to attend the workshop either. Everyone is welcome and the workshop is open to the public!
There will be some Microsoft giveaways and we will also have FREE Pizza and Sodas.
Matt will also be demonstrating how to use a tool called Construct2. Using this tool participants can publish a game in about 5 hours. This workshop is a great opportunity to "get your feet wet" with Win8 app development.
I hope to see you there!
