Paint or draw outside with friends! Bring an easel or your sketch book. Share the enjoyment! Be out in all seasons. Meet people who love art and love to paint/draw outdoors.

En Plein Air means "in the open air" (French), and is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors (compliments wikipedia).

Most of our Meetups take place in Washington D.C., Montgomery County, or northern Virginia.

"Baker Park is a very nice place; I have painted there many years ago on my own. I would be interested and so would my husband. Thanks for mentioning it and Nancy thanks for your parking suggestion."

"Max, Baker Park sounds very interesting. I think you can park free at the swimming pool in Baker Park, 500 Fleming Avenue. Do suggest a meetup there some time!"

"Like the strong simple shapes of color and the details that contrast geometric architectural squares and rectangles against the organic flow in the tree."

"It is always nice to drag warm colors down into cool ones. I took a workshop where the instructor had said that many of us were taking along too many paints, so I now use less and mix more and am getting better colors than the premixed."

"Thanks Carolyn, yes I alway try to do something with shadows keeping them away from black or a redundant dark blue...."

"I like the way you carried the cadmium down into the shadow made by the roof. The shadows in the foreground are also very nice. You show different shades of cobalt."
